Small Grants Program for Sports


The Small Grants Program is intended to encourage and support organizations to look at new initiatives that will encourage greater sport participation and leadership in under-represented and marginalized populations in Prince Edward Island. The program will encourage strategic partnerships.

Who is eligible to apply to the Small Grants Program?

Member Clubs and Associations

To provide assistance to sport clubs and associations, which must be a member of their respective provincial sport organization (PSO), for new or enhanced projects that encourage and support increased participation, athlete development, coach development, volunteer development, and official development for local grass root activities in sport for under-represented or marginalized populations on PEI.

Not for Profit

To provide assistance to not-for-profit organizations, municipalities, provincial sport organizations, etc. for new or enhanced activities or programs, which support a vision of getting under-represented Islanders active in sport, recreation, or physical activity.

Girls and Women

To provide assistance for girls and women in leadership positions in sport such as coaching and officiating.

How much funding is available through the program?

Normally, funding is a maximum of $1,000. Projects that are provincial in scope, innovative, and demonstrate a need could be eligible for up to $3,000.
