Annual call for proposal 2024-25 for family violence prevention and direct service delivery activities that focus on Inuit, Métis, Indigenous 2SLGBTQI+ people and urban Indigenous populations

Closing July 19, 2024

Family Violence Prevention Program (sac-isc.gc.ca)
at Indigenous Services Canada provides vital services to Indigenous women, children, families and 2SLGBTQI+ people facing family violence, and funds activities and key supports to help prevent future violence.

The Family Violence Prevention Program in Headquarters is pleased to advise that the 2024-25 Call for Proposals for community-driven family violence prevention projects across Canada is now open:  Family Violence Prevention Program: Call for proposals 2024 to 2025 (sac-isc.gc.ca)

This call for proposals supports family violence prevention and direct service delivery activities that focus on Inuit, Métis, Indigenous 2SLGBTQI+ people and urban Indigenous populations. The primary focus of proposed activities must be on family violence prevention.

The deadline to submit a proposal for 2024-25 is July 19, 2024, at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time.

All questions can be directed to :  ppvf-fvpp@sac-isc.gc.ca

This year our priority themes are:

  • outreach to Indigenous women, children, youth and 2SLGBTQI+ people on the prevention of family violence

  • empowerment of Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQI+ people to reduce the risk of vulnerability to family violence

  • addressing the vulnerability to family violence associated with the transition to living in environments away from First Nations, Inuit or Métis traditional lands and communities

  • service supports for Indigenous men and boys to prevent family violence

  • services supports for survivors of family violence and reducing vulnerability to human trafficking and sexual exploitation

  • wrap-around services and case management for survivors of family violence

Generally, HQ funding is geared toward the 2SLGBTQI+, Indigenous urban, Inuit and Métis community needs, or supports activities with a national scope while regional funding is geared toward First Nations needs on reserve or projects with a regional scope.  Proposals for activities that are geared toward First Nations on reserve will be sent to ISC regional offices for review and consideration.

Contribution agreements for approved proposals will be processed as quickly as possible, as all single-year projects should be completed by March 31, 2025.  This call for proposals will be able to support a limited number of longer-term activities with multi-year budgets, and will permit multi-year agreements.
